In December 2021 I was called back to rejoin the cast of “Made For Love” to reprise my role as Donnie. The show aired earlier that year in April and the excitement for the show was pretty cool to be a part of. We filmed this project in 2019, the year I moved to California and I was a part of the pilot episode. (The first episode of the show.)
After the premiere, I would say that all of the right people were excited about my performance. I got the call as I was at the airport from my manager. I was visiting my dad and we were talking about how I'd feel if this moment came back around.
Working with Kym Whitley was dope as hell. We studied together, we rehearsed, and we became a set family. I started getting more comfortable working on a TV show but honestly, I think I was still finding my way in comedy. I kept trying too hard in the beginning then I learned that the comedy was in between the lines, not the actual lines themselves.
Kym was great for that and Edy Modica was a natural. I wished I could do the things I saw her do. She didn't try too hard, she was a legit pro at this thing, but my best lessons always came from being on set. I had a lot of fun on this project and HBO was the first network I wanted to work on the day I landed in California on January 26, 2019. My first goal was accomplished and now there was another show on my radar.
